HOW DO I MAKE MY CRISPY WAFFLES?

Preparing the batter:

1. In a medium bowl, whisk to combine the flour, cornstarch, no sodium baking powder and sugar.

2. In another bowl, whisk the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla together until well blended like an omelet.

3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and mix until just mixed.

4. Let the batter sit for 10 to 15 minutes so the baking powder has time to activate.

Cooking the waffles:

1. In case if eating a large batch at once, heat the oven to 200ยฐ F to hold cooked waffles until serving.

2. The waffles that are Stacked on a counter plate will steam and get โ€œsoggyโ€.

3. Heat the waffle iron for 5 minutes.

4. Pour about 1/2 cup of the batter onto the heated waffle iron and cook for about 6 minutes until the waffle is golden brown and crisp.

5. Immediately repeat with the remaining batter, and quickly set the cooked waffle directly on the oven rack to keep it warm and crisp.

6. Serve with Butter, (low sodium) syrup, fruit preserves, or jam.
